From the flagship museum at the National Mall to the picturesque hangar near Dulles Airport, they take visitors closer to the artifacts for a more in-depth tour. Ask the America’s Team where to find any of the planes or spacecraft on display, and they tell you exactly where to find it, whether in a gallery downtown or in a hangar at UHC, and even where you'll find the best view.

The story of America’s Team demonstrates that teamwork is the key to successful outcomes and enthusiasm of the team’s members sparks advocacy of the significance of the human’s accomplishment to aerospace.

Volunteer docents are the lifeblood of the National Air and Space Museum and they support the museum 364 days a year. The America’s Team, an energetic and dynamic group of the museum docent corps, works with a high degree of professionalism. The goal of the America’s Team is to provide all visitors with an exciting and engaging experience that gives them a new understanding of the largest collection of historic air and spacecraft in the world. They also are the innovators who brought interactive tours to the museum. Using their individual skills and talents, the America’s Team helps NASM maintain its reputation as a showplace for the objects that tell the history of aviation and space flight.

The team's tours enable adults and students to gain insight through interaction with hundreds of aircraft, spacecraft, and associated artifacts. As they believe visitors learn most effectively when they have repeated encounters with collections, they structure school tours to involve teacher preparation, student preparatory and follow-up activities, multiple visits, and close integration with school curricula. The America’s Team also strives to create tours and programs for adults that foster an ongoing relationship with the museum and its varied programming. Come and enjoy the 90-minute journey, where visitors experience the timeline of air and spacecraft in the Museum's world-class collection.
